I recently submitted a pre-auth for a sliding genioplasty to further assist my MMA procedure. The doctor wrote a letter of medical necessity saying it was needed to advance my hyoid bone and help open my airways. WELL insurance does not believe it to be medically necessary and wants "proven statistical medical efficacies that would substantiate the claim" Do you buy chance have any idea where I would find this? I don't know if my doctor has this sort of stuff or not. I just remember reading that you had genioplasty done because it is supposed to be beneficial in OSA cases. Do you know anything about this?
